Mid-Shore Exteriors Installs Free Roof for David & Cecilia Washington
Mid-Shore Exteriors is proud to announce the winner of the 2020 Free Roof Giveaway: David and Cecilia Washington of Talbot County! We were thrilled to be able to install a brand new GAF shingle roof, which comes with an industry-leading 50-year manufacturer’s warranty. Here’s the video of our team going to work installing the Washington’s’ new roof!
With more than 50 deserving nominees to choose from, the Mid-Shore team picked David and Cecilia. We were moved by their story, their impact in the community, and the family and friends that rallied around them!
“There were so many deserving families, and it was a really hard choice,” Sarah Faulkner, owner of Mid-Shore Exteriors, said. “At the end of the day, we were so happy we could give this roof to David and Cecilia.”
The Story
While there were so many wonderful families who entered our contest, it was our honor to be able to choose such exceptional people. Firstly, their need for a new roof was pressing – their homeowners insurance company told them that if their roof wasn’t replaced, their policy would be canceled. Despite working hard all their lives, health issues leave them unable to work and pay for a high-quality roof replacement. Despite being retired, they are an active part of the AME Bethel Church in Easton, Maryland, cooking for church members and comforting grieving families.
In fact, David and Cecilia Washington mean so much to their community that the church group wrote and signed a letter to us explaining why they deserved to win the roof giveaway. Ultimately, the goal was always to enrich our hometown by giving away a gift that truly made a difference. And we feel we did that by installing a brand new roof that Cecilia and David will never have to worry about ever again!
