The story of Mid-Shore Exteriors is one of faith, family, and determination. This is how the business grew from just a dream into what would become one of Maryland’s most-awarded, best-loved family-owned roofing companies.
18 years ago, Brian and Sarah Faulkner were just 23 years old, struggling to make ends meet. The couple had a two-year-old daughter and a newborn daughter – and they needed a reliable way to provide everything their young family would need.
Brian was a roofer by trade, working with several different local roofing companies over the years. While he enjoyed the work itself, he always saw ways to improve the experience for the customers. Brian felt that all of the other companies lacked truly respectful customer service and a focus on using current technology. So, Brian and Sarah discussed it carefully, prayed, and – with faith in God – they decided to take a chance together.
That was how the family-owned roofing company Mid-Shore Exteriors was founded. From the beginning, there was a desire to bring superior service to their friends and neighbors on the Eastern Shore. In addition, Brian and Sarah wanted to improve the image of the roofing industry, allowing homeowners to have a sincere sense of trust in their roofer.
Nearly 20 Years of Success
From its humble beginning, this family-owned roofing company has come a long way and enjoyed much success – thanks to the Faulkner’s determination, a skilled team, and the grace of God. The Mid-Shore team has earned the exclusive GAF Master Elite certification and CertainTeed Shingle Master certification based on their skills. Plus, the team was awarded with the elite GAF President’s Club Award, meaning they are the best of the best from among the Master Elite® and Master Select™ Contractors. To have been recognized in this way, the team needed to distinguish themselves by meeting the highest-level requirements for performance, reliability, and service.
On top of all that, Mid-Shore has been recognized with countless roofing industry awards, including Best of Coastal Style, Best of the Eastern Shore, and many more!
Brian’s role at Mid-Shore Exteriors is head of sales where he enthusiastically looks forward to meeting with every customer and personalizing their experience. Sarah spends most of her days planning for the future of the company, while handling the financial responsibilities and ensuring that everything is running smoothly for the teams and vendors.
The focus to be better and to put the customer first continues with every new team member we bring aboard. We always want to make sure we are giving superior service, installing best-in-class products, and ensuring our team has the most current knowledge in the industry.
The Future of Mid-Shore Exteriors
We look forward to further evolving in the industry and to becoming a second-generation family-owned roofing company. Both of Brian and Sarah’s daughters are excited to join the family business in the near future! In fact, their oldest daughter Taylor has already joined the team as an office assistant doing essential work like accounting, data entry, and ordering materials.
Giving Back to Our Community
Giving back to the tight-knit Eastern Shore community has been central to Mid-Shore Exteriors from the beginning. Over their 18 years in business, Brian and Sarah have sponsored countless events, different charities, and many other worthy causes. Additionally, over the past two years, Mid-Shore has been able to give away a free roof to a family in need! As part of the annual New Roof Giveaway, the team requests nominations from community members and builds a roof for someone who is truly in need.
